Water Street North Reduced to Two Lanes on Thursday
As a result of a scheduled hydrant repair, Water Street North between Bay Street and Cumberland Street will be reduced from four lanes to two lanes (one northbound and one southbound), beginning on Thursday, April 15, at 8 am. Slower traffic can be expected during the repair.

Public Consultation on Red Light Cameras Begins
The City of Thunder Bay is studying the possibility of implementing a Red Light Camera Program at 10 intersections where accidents have been caused by red light running. Residents are invited to take an online survey through the City’s public engagement platform, and share their input on red light cameras for Thunder Bay.

Heavy Load Restrictions to Take Effect
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Reduced Load Period is expected to come into effect shortly. In conjunction with this, Heavy Load Restrictions will apply within the City of Thunder Bay limits beginning at 8 am on Monday, March 15.

Thunder Bay’s 2020 Road Work Season Wraps Up
In 2020, the City of Thunder Bay invested $18 million on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work, and streetlight renewal.
