A section of River Street will be narrowed to two lanes on Wednesday, August 21 to allow for completion of sewer and water repairs.

The two eastbound lanes of River Street will be closed at Pine Street beginning at 6am.

Lane closures will be in place on a section of Arthur Street between Mountdale Avenue and James Street starting on Friday, August 16 to allow for resurfacing work.

Travel lanes on Arthur Street will be reduced to one in each direction in the area, and intersection approaches at Mountdale Avenue and James Street will be closed as work proceeds.

A section of Simpson Street will be closed beginning Friday, August 9 to allow for renewal work on underground infrastructure in the area.

Simpson Street will be fully closed to traffic between Ogden Street and Cameron Street beginning on Friday morning.

A section of Oliver Road will close overnight Thursday to facilitate water main repairs.

Oliver Road will be closed between Winnipeg Street and Ontario Street beginning at 8pm on Thursday, August 1.

A number of construction projects are expected to impact vehicular, cycling, and pedestrian travel in Thunder Bay throughout the month of August.

The City is investing $42 million in 2024 to fund crucial infrastructure work including road rehabilitation, sidewalk replacement, sewer and watermain repairs and replacements, and bridge and culvert renewal.

The Memorial Avenue and Harbour Expressway intersection is scheduled for two periods of overnight closures as the installation of new traffic signals and repaving is completed.

The intersection will be fully closed to traffic overnights from 7 pm to 7 am starting the evening of Wednesday, July 24 and concluding the morning of Saturday, July 27.

A portion of Fairview Avenue will be closed to traffic this week to allow for completion of rehabilitation work on the CPKC railway grade crossing.

Fairview Avenue will be closed in both directions at the rail crossing beginning on Tuesday, July 23.

During the work, the intersection will be closed to through traffic on both streets.

John Street Road will be closed in both directions between Valley Street and Mercier Drive starting at 6am, with access for local traffic only.

The parking lot at Junot Park will be temporarily closed to the public during working hours to support several infrastructure improvements in the area.

The parking lot will be closed on weekdays between 7am and 7pm as work proceeds.
