Volunteer Pool, located at 180 Martha St, offers swimming, fitness classes, lessons, birthday parties and group rentals. Come for a swim and check out our facilities.

Children 6 & Under
- Must be accompanied, regardless of swimming ability, by a guardian (12+) who is in the pool within arm’s reach and in proper swimming attire. Maximum of 2 children to 1 guardian.
Children 7-9
- Children who are able to pass the facility swim test, may swim unaccompanied.
Children unable to pass the facility swim test, must be accompanied by a guardian (12+) who is in the pool within arm’s reach and in proper swimming attire. Maximum of 4 children to 1 guardian. The ratio may be increased to 8 children to 1 guardian if all non-swimmers are wearing lifejackets
Children 10 & Older
- May swim unaccompanied. Must be able to swim comfortably to enter the deep end, they may be required to perform a swim test if the lifeguard sees fit.
- It is not recommended that those 10+, who are weak swimmers, swim unaccompanied.
Faculty Swim Test
- Swimmers must be able to swim 15 metres, non-stop, comfortably on their front with face in the water for a portion of the time.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.
LENGTHS
- During a lengths swim the pool is divided into three sections for: continuous swimming, leisure swimming (stopping permitted at each end), and a multi-use lane for water walk/jog
- The hot tub and sauna are both available for use during this swim.
PUBLIC SWIM
- Everyone is welcome to enjoy all facility features, including the pool, hot tub, sauna, and diving board. During this swim, there is one lane devoted to length swimming. Lifejackets and pool toys are available for use.

FAMILY SWIM
- A great way for the whole family to stay active and spend time together. Enjoy all facility features, including the pool, hot tub, sauna, and diving board. During this swim there is one lane devoted to length swimming. Lifejackets and pool toys are available for use.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, 18+ who is in the pool in proper swim attire.
AQUABICS
- Enjoy the guidance of an Aquabics instructor and resistance of the water to stretch and strengthen your muscles and improve your cardiovascular endurance. During Aquabics classes the pool, hot tub and sauna is only available for use by those participating in the Aquabics class.
Private RENTAL
- Volunteer Pool offers private pool rentals. During a private rental, your group will have access to all pool features, including the hot tub, sauna, and diving board. Lifejackets and pool toys are available for use. For more information, please call 807-345-5143.
SWIMMING LESSONS
- Volunteer Pool offers a variety of swimming lessons, including group and private lessons. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to stay in the loop on registration dates or give us a call at 807-345-5143! During swimming lessons the pool, hot tub, and sauna is only available for use by those registered in a program.

Winter swimming lessons will start the week of January 11, 2026 and run for 10 weeks, except Mondays which will be a 9 week session. There will be no lessons on Monday February 16th (Family Day) or the week of March 15th to 21st (March Break). Registration for winter programming begins Wednesday, December 10th at 10:00am. You may register online or call the pool at 807-345-5143.
Lifesaving Programs (Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross)
100% attendance is mandatory for the courses listed below (continuous evaluation). All programs are subject to cancellation based on registration. Cancellations, if necessary will take place the week prior to the start date. If cancelled you will be contacted.

Volunteer Pool offers private and public birthday parties.
- Public parties (swim for 1 hour during a public swim) $166.14+HST
- Private parties (only your group in the pool for 1 hour) $207.67+HST
Both parties include, 1 hour in the pool with lifeguard supervision, use of the hot tub/sauna followed by 1 hour in our private birthday party room, 2 large pizzas from Golden Bakery, 12 pop or juice and 12 child admissions.
