Treasure Exchange Days coming September 7 & 8The City’s twice-yearly Treasure Exchange Days event will take place on Sept. 7 & 8.
Community Clean-Up Trailer launchedThe City’s Solid Waste & Recycling Services and Clean, Green and Beautiful Committee are pleased to announce the launch of the Community Clean-Up Trailer. Today City staff and members of the Committee, along with staff of Lakehead Region Conservation Authority, Thunder Bay Art Gallery and Generator Strategy Advertising used the Trailer to rid an area along the Neebing Floodway of litter.
Use of recycling carts begins as of July 1As of July 1, Thunder Bay residents will begin using recycling carts to place recycling at the curb. Blue bags will no longer be accepted.
Treasure Exchange Days Coming June 15 & 16The City’s twice-yearly Treasure Exchange Days event will take place this coming weekend on June 15 and 16. Residents with used items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 pm on Friday, June 14, labelled “free.
Leaf and Yard Waste Collection coming May 21 - 31Curbside collection of leaf and yard waste is coming between May 21 and May 31, on residents’ regular recycling day.
Only Kraft (paper bags) will be accepted for leaf and yard waste.
Free compost available to residents beginning May 9Free compost is now available at the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility, for all residents - while quantities last, weather permitting.
“With the mild weather this spring, residents have been awaiting the opening of our compost pick-up,” said Jason Sherband, Manager – Solid Waste & Recycling Services.
Recycling carts coming for residential householdsAs of July 1, Thunder Bay residents will use wheeled recycling carts to place recycling at the curb, and blue bags will no longer be accepted.
Cart delivery to residential household addresses will begin the week of May 5 and continue into June.
