Waste Collection Date Changes for Remembrance Day 2022
The upcoming Remembrance Day holiday will result in date changes for waste, recycling, and leaf and yard collections during the week of Nov. 7, 2022.
Leaf & Yard Waste Collection November 1-10The City’s fall curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from Nov. 1-10, on residents’ regular recycling days.
Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Runs Oct. 26 – Nov. 5The City of Thunder Bay’s fall curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from Oct. 26 to Nov.
Waste Collection Date Changes for Week of Sept. 27The upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will result in date changes for waste and recycling collection during the week of Sept. 27.
Treasure Exchange Days Returns September 11 and 12The City's popular Treasure Exchange Days event returns this weekend. Residents who have items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them onthe curb anytime after 5pm on Friday, Sept.
One Extra Item of Garbage Allowed Next Week (2)The City will allow residents to put out a third item of garbage with no tag on the first collection date after the Victoria Day holiday.
Residents are reminded to make efforts to reduce waste as it saves energy, time, money and valuable natural resources.
Free Compost Now Available to Residents (1)Weather permitting, compost is now available to all residents at no charge at the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility while quantities last.
Access to the compost pick-up area is on John Street Rd, between Mapleward Rd and Gratton Rd.
Leaf and Yard Waste Collection Scheduled for May 18 -28The City of Thunder Bay’s spring curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from May 18 – 28, on residents’ regular recycling days.
Homeowners must use Kraft (paper bags) for leaf and yard waste.
Waste Collection Changes for Week Before Easter (1)Curbside waste collection dates, city wide, will change next week due to Good Friday.
Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier next week, starting on March 29, for all residents.
