After nearly two years of planning, the time has come for the Thunder Bay 2024 Ontario Winter Games! The main square at Fort William Historical Park will come alive as hundreds of the province’s top young athletes parade in to kick off a weekend of competition.

GATES OPEN/ACTIVITIES BEGIN @ 5:00 PM
- Visit the Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper Kraft Shack to make your own Winter Games sign!
- Have Fun with Forces with Science North
- Check out the Tbaytel booth for some awesome swag
- Visit the This is Mine Life booth for some mining-themed candy

OPENING CEREMONY KICKS OFF @ 6:30 pm
- Cheer on the participants as they enter in the Athletes’ Parade (begins at 6:30 SHARP)
- Hear from those involved in bringing these games to life
- The party heats up with the lighting of the Games Cauldron
- Dance the night away with live music from The Lockyer Boys!
Important Info
- Make sure you arrive early to participate in all the activities and get a great spot to view the Athletes' Parade and enjoy the show.
- Admission to the Opening Ceremonies is FREE and EVERYONE is welcome!
- This is an outdoor event. While there will be several heated buildings and warming stations at Fort William Historical Park, we advise everyone to dress warmly to fully enjoy the event.
- Food will be available for purchase on site.
- Parking is FREE!
