New online registration

We're moving to a new registration software and are excited to bring you an easy-to-use online registration option through PerfectMind! Registrations will also still be taken by phone at 625-8463 (hotline).

Fall Program Registration will begin:

  • 55 Plus Fall program registration begins on Wednesday, August 11
  • All other Fall Program registration begins on Monday, August 16.

We invite you to create an account* to make the registration process go smoothly for you. 

* Please note that if you have an existing membership with the Canada Games Complex, Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool, are a 55 Plus program participant or have a credit on your account, an account may have already been created for you (confirmation of your account set-up would have been sent via email requesting you to change your password for 55 Plus participants or if you have a Complex membership, please call to activate your account at 625-3738 or 630-1691).

However, if you are told “an account already exists” when you are creating your account for the first time but you did not receive an email from us, please click “Forgot your password?” and you will receive an email within 5 minutes to reset your password and login to your account

 How to create an account online

*Note: Our system runs best using Google Chrome.

  • Visit cityofthunderbay.perfectmind.com
  • Click on Sign up button under the City logo. *Note: If you have a Complex membership, an account was already created for you. Please call 625-3738 or 630-1691 to have your account activated.
  • Complete all fields with current information. Register the primary owner first. Family members can be added once your account is activated.
  • Once complete, click the Submit button
  • An email will be sent to the email address provided with a user name and temporary password. You must change your password using this email within 24 hours
 How to manage your account
  • Once your account is created, log in and click on the “Manage Login” button at the top of the screen.
  • Enter your temporary password, then create a new password. Passwords must be at least 9 characters long and include at least 1 upper case letter and lower case letter, 1 number and 1 special character. (Eg. #1Recreation)
  • Click on "Add Family Member" to add additional members to your account and fill in the requested information.
 How to register for a program online
  • Log into your account at cityofthunderbay.perfectmind.com
  • Click on "Program Registration" at the top of the page.
  • Search for a program by "Activity", "Course ID" or "Filter Option"
  • Find the course you want to register for and select "Book", then follow the prompts to add the course to your cart.
  • Ensure you register the correct individual from your account to the course!
  • You can add multiple registrations to your cart if desired.
  • Click "Checkout" when you are done and enter payment*.

*Payment can be made by debit card, VISA or Mastercard online. Cash is accepted in person at any of our registration outlets.

 Quick tips for smooth registration
  • Test your login information ahead of time, browse the new program categories and search for your programs by course ID so you can easily find them on registration day
  • Add all other immediate family members you want to register

What happens to my existing membership?

  • Remaining time on existing memberships will be transferred to the new registration system
  • Members will be able to pick up their new membership cards at the front desk of your facility

What features are available for online booking?

  • Program registration – registered and drop-in
  • Adult and senior memberships
  • Browse availability of room rentals (Note: at this time we will not be doing room rentals in facilities due to Covid 19 restrictions)

Do I need an email address to register online?

  • Yes, you will need an online login which requires an email address. This is where all correspondence will be sent including password reset emails, registration confirmations, and receipts.

Can I still register by phone or in person?

  • Yes, you can still register by calling (807) 625-8463
  • In-person registration is temporarily unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions. 

How can I view my schedule?

  • Click on “My Profile” button to get to your schedule

If the program is full, can I get on a waitlist online?

  • Yes, if a program is full the Register button will turn into a Waitlist button which you may use to be added to the waitlist
  • Waitlist spots are limited. Once the waitlist is full, the program will display as full.
  • If on a waitlist, keep an eye on your email as this is how you will be notified if a spot opens up and you are next on the list for a limited time.

How do I know if my registration went through?

  • You will receive a confirmation email with the details. You can also view your current registrations by clicking on “My Profile”.

Can I withdraw from a course?

  • Program registration withdrawals cannot be processed on-line. Please call (807) 625-8463 to withdraw from a course.

Can I view my account credit online?

  • If you have credit on your account, it will appear during checkout as a payment option. You can choose to use the credit or leave it for a future transaction.

Can I use a gift card online?

  • Yes, during checkout, enter the gift card number exactly as shown on the card, including symbols.

What happens if I can’t see the course I registered for in my account?

  • You may have set up multiple accounts using different email addresses. If this might be the case, contact (807) 625-2351 to merge your accounts

Registration Credit Notice: We are in the process of refunding past credits in order to make the transition to the new system. Letters have been sent out to anyone with credits on their accounts.

Please note: If you have a credit on your account and have not already spoken to a staff person to process your refund, any of your remaining credits for 2021 will be transferred to the new registration system for use on your new account or can be refunded in the future.

  • If you have an existing membership at the Canada Games Complex, Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool, or have spoken to someone from the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre to create your new account, any existing credits will have been added to your account.
  • If you do not have an active membership or have not had an account set up yet, account credits that were from prior to 2021 have not been automatically transferred to the new system.

The Recreation & Culture Division has something for everyone! Summer programs will be listed in The Key available now! Programs can fill up quickly, so be sure to register early!

We encourage you to use our new online registration system, but you can still register via phone or in-person, pending facility reopenings.

Info required for payment

Payment is required at the time of registration. To register you will need:

  • Course name and/or code number;
  • Participant name;
  • Address and postal code;
  • Participant's date of birth;
  • Phone numbers (day and evening if different);
  • Visa or MasterCard number and expiry date

Information and program support is provided to assist people with a disability to participate in recreation activities.

Problems registering?

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have problems registering, please contact 807-625-2351.

Satisfaction guaranteed

We sincerely hope that you enjoy our programs. If not completely satisfied, speak to the Supervisor of the program area BEFORE the second class to receive a FULL refund. Refunds granted after the second class are pro-rated. Medical certificates may be required. No refunds after mid-point of programs.

Confirmation of enrolment

If you receive your first choice in programs, you will not hear from us. Simply attend the first class. If your first choice is not available, we will contact you by telephone. Receipts will be available at the location of the first class/lesson.

Need help paying fees?

The Recreation & Culture Division has a policy to assist people who wish to participate in its instructional programs. If you require assistance with program fees, you must contact a supervisor at 807-625-2351 prior to registering. This policy only applies to registered programs directly administered by the Recreation & Culture Division. Children may apply for program registration through PRO Kids, or call 807-625-3212.
