 NEW Parking Zones in Effect

Starting in mid November 2025, the City of Thunder Bay is expanding its parking management program with the launch of 33 new parking zones in the North and South Downtown Cores. 

There is 18 zones on the North Side and 15 zones on the South Side. The new parking zones will make it easier for residents and visitors to manage parking through the Passport Parking Canada App.

Complimentary Free Parking

The City of Thunder Bay is offering 2-hour complimentary on-street parking, with the option of paying for up to an additional 2 hours. Parking at the Marina is now complimentary for up to 4 hours, with the option of paying for up to an additional 4 hours.  Complimentary parking can only be used once per day Help us gather data and log your stay on the Passport Parking App or on a pay machine!

Got a ticket?

Paying your ticket is now quick and easy through our online Pay a Parking Ticket portal*. Tickets can also be paid in-person, by mail, or at drop boxes (Waterfront Parkade - 18 Court St. N. & Victoriaville Parkade - 131 Syndicate Ave. S., 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday). Be sure to include the ticket number on money orders and cheques payable to the Thunder Bay Parking Authority. 

*Paying a parking ticket online includes a $3.50 online convenience payment fee.

If you receive a text or call saying you have an unpaid parking ticket do not click on any links or respond.
