Winter fun is in full swing at SnowDay on the Waterfront! Families and friends join us for a day packed with outdoor adventure, interactive activities, and cozy winter vibes! Planning for 2026 continues, but check out all the cool things that we are planning:

  • Snow Sculptures to view and vote on for your favourite!
  • Enjoy a display of Ice Sculptures by Kim Asmussen! 
  • Ice Fishing Fun – Try your luck on the ice with the MNR and Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters
  • Explore winter animal activities with Science North!
  • Warming Fires – Warm up by the fire in the Festival Area.
  • Maple Taffy Treats – Enjoy sweet maple taffy made in the snow with Le Club culturel francophone de Thunder Bay (CCFTB)!
  • Snowshoeing – Strap on some snowshoes and explore the park like a true winter adventurer!
  • Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides – Take a scenic ride through the winter wonderland with New Canaan Farm Clydesdales!
  • Art Activities – Get creative with CAHEP in a fun indoor and outdoor art zone! The Thunder Bay Art Gallery will also be onsite with art activities upstairs in the Baggage Building Arts Centre!
  • Warm up indoors with Thunder Bay Museum & Boreal Museum with activities to enjoy on the main level of the Baggage Building Arts Centre as well!  
  • Wonderous Workout Warmup - Get moving in the Tai Chi Area and enjoy a fun & playful fitness activity! 
  • Outdoor Games – Enjoy outdoor winter games with Youth Moves!
  • Bring your skates and enjoy skating at the Water Garden Pavilion!

It's a fantastic day of winter magic, community fun, and chilly excitement!

  • Heritage Hot Chocolate & Campfire – Warm up with Parks Canada and sip on delicious hot chocolate by the fire.
  • Crokicurl Rink – Test your skills on the one-of-a-kind Crokicurl rink in the Festival Area!
  • Sugar Shack Treats – Enjoy sweet maple taffy with Club culturel francophone de Thunder Bay and Canada West Maple.
  • Snowshoeing – Strap on some snowshoes and explore the park like a true winter adventurer!
  • Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides – Take a scenic ride through the winter wonderland!
  • Art Activities – Get creative with CAHEP in a fun outdoor art zone!
  • Outdoor Games & Warming Stations – Stay cozy by the fire pits and enjoy outdoor winter games!
  • Indoor Warming Station – Take a break inside with crafts and games hosted by Thunder Bay Museum, Boreal Museum, and Thunder Bay Art Gallery!
