City’s Credit Rating Reaffirmed at AA
S&P Global Ratings has reaffirmed the City of Thunder Bay’s credit rating of AA, with a stable outlook.
Over the next two years the City is expected to maintain overall sound financial results including positive budgetary performance, low municipal debt burden and a robust liquidity position.
City Offers Self-Guided Canada Day Activities This YearDue to COVID-19 restrictions and out of respect for Indigenous communities across Canada who are grieving, the City of Thunder Bay will not be holding a large, in-person Canada Day event this year. Instead, event organizers will be offering a variety of self-guided Canada Day activities for residents to participate in virtually from July 1-4.

Set-up for North Core Streetscape Patios to Begin FridayStarting on Friday, June 11, the City of Thunder Bay in partnership with the Waterfront District BIA, will pilot an extended pedestrian and patio-centric plan in the City’s North Core as part of the ‘Reimagining the North Core Streetscapes’ study.
City staff will be onsite to assist businesses with setting up patios throughout the North Core.
