City Launches 50th Anniversary Plans for 2020On January 1, 2020 Thunder Bay will celebrate 50 years since the amalgamation of the cities of Fort William, Port Arthur and towns of Neebing and McIntyre merging to create Thunder Bay.
Mayor Bill Mauro, Councillor Shelby Ch’ng and members of the 50th Anniversary Committee announced today the city’s plans for a year’s worth of activities and incentives to help celebrate the upcoming 50th Anniversary.
2019 Mayor’s Community Safety Awards PresentedTwo individuals and four community projects were recognized last night during the Ninth Annual Mayor’s Community Safety Awards ceremony for their work to make Thunder Bay a safer community.

Leaf & Yard Waste Collection October 29 – November 8The City of Thunder Bay’s fall curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from October 29 – November 8, on resident’s regular recycling days.
Homeowners must use Kraft (paper bags) for leaf and yard waste.
