Residents Reminded to Stay Safe and Follow Rules at Outdoor Amenities
The city is reminding residents that the Provincial Order issued on Dec. 21, 2020 states, in part, that permitted outdoor recreational amenities may only open if people can maintain a physical distance of two metres from one another, and sports, or other sports or games where people may come within two metres of each other, are not practiced or played within the amenity.
Community Reminded of Cold Weather Response PlanThe City of Thunder Bay and community partners remind all citizens to take extra caution when spending time outdoors, especially during extreme cold events. The Cold Weather Response Plan will be active for the duration of the COVID-19 municipal state of emergency.
50th Anniversary Commemorative Art Bus in Service TodayThe 50th Anniversary installation of the latest City art bus is now complete, and it will be in service with Thunder Bay Transit starting today.
“The new art bus is a great tool for civic engagement, and another wonderful way to celebrate our 50th Anniversary year that just passed,” said Councillor Shelby Ch’ng, Chair – 50th Anniversary Committee.

City Requests Expressions of Interest for Prince Arthur’s Landing OpportunitiesThe City of Thunder Bay has released a Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for opportunities related to Prince Arthur’s Landing.

New Rules in Effect for Skating at Outdoor City Rinks and PondsIn cooperation with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, the City is releasing new rules and restrictions for outdoor skating at City rinks and ponds that go into effect today.
The additional rules include:
