Jeans & Jewels Christmas Party in Support of the United Way
November 26, 2015 – In support of the United Way Municipal Campaign, employees of the City of Thunder Bay want to encourage the community to attend the second annual Jeans & Jewels Christmas Party.

Animal Services Launches Spay it Forward CampaignNovember 25, 2015 – Animal Services has partnered with Superior Street Cats to launch the new Spay it Forward Campaign that invites citizens to donate toward the spay/neuter of a feral cat.
"Spaying or neutering a feral cat is a humane and effective method of managing feral cat colonies,” said Jody Kondrat, Supervisor, Animal Services.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue & Union Gas Launch SAFE ProgramNovember 24, 2015 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Union Gas and the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council have teamed up through Project Zero to launch Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's SAFE program (Smoke/CO Alarms For Everyone). The SAFE program is an assistance-based program geared towards local home owners that require assistance with the acquisition or installation of smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms.

City Meets to Begin Planning for Potential Welcome of RefugeesNovember 20, 2015 – The Municipal Emergency Control Group met today to begin planning should the City formally be requested to assist in the resettlement of Syrian refugees. The meeting was called following a resolution of Council made Monday night to potentially welcome approximately 20 families, or up to 100 United Nations’ screened refugees.
Construction Limits Access to Kaministiquia River Heritage ParkNovember 12, 2015 – The pedestrian underpass running between Simpson Street and Kaministiquia River Heritage Park has been closed to the public while contractors perform maintenance work on the paving stone pathway that runs through the underpass.
The work involves lifting the unit, paving stones along the length of the underpass and resetting their grade.
Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance DayNovember 10, 2015 - In honour of veterans, Thunder Bay Transit is will be providing free transit service to all veterans and military personnel in uniform and the family members accompanying them on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.
2015 Mayor's Community Safety Awards PresentedNovember 2, 2015 – Six individuals and groups were recognized this evening during the 2015 Annual Mayor’s Community Safety Awards ceremony for their work to make Thunder Bay a safer community.
