Enjoy FREE winter programming for the whole family THIS WINTER! 

The City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce the return of Winter FunDays in 2024. Every Sunday 2pm - 4pm, from January 7th to March 17th, exciting indoor & outdoor activities that highlight the joy of winter will be held at Prince Arthur's Landing, the Baggage Building Arts Centre, and various neighbourhoods throughout the city.

Come join us and have a blast this winter!

Sunday January 7, 2024 

Indoor Card Making with CAHEP (Community Arts & Heritage Education Project)

 

Join us in the baggage building as we make Welcome Cards for the visiting athletes for the Ontario Winter Games taking place in February.  There will be a variety of paper and media available to create your own unique card to welcome our upcoming visitors.

Sports-Themed Print Making Project with CAHEP (Community Arts & Heritage Education Project)

 

Using a variety of printmaking materials, come and make your own sport figure/sport inspired print!  Let your creativity flow and create a print and then add your flair to make it your own.

Stencil Mural Project with CAHEP (Community Arts & Heritage Education Project)

 

Using a large collection of figure stencils, we will create a large mural for everyone to enjoy!  Leave your mark on the mural.

Outdoor Snowshoeing & Scavenger Hunt with the Neighbourhood Recreation Program and Crafts with Thunder Bay Museum

 

Join our Neighbourhood Recreation Program Staff on a scavenger hunt around Chapples park and try out a snowshoeing course around the park.  Thundar Bay Museum will be on location making Sun Catchers.

Scratch Art Project with CAHEP (Community Arts & Heritage Education Project)

 

Create a beautiful Winter Games inspired masterpiece.  Scratch Art is created by first colouring an abstract base out of pastels, covering it with a layer of black paint and then scratching away the paint to reveal a beautiful piece of art.

Pipe-Cleaner Puppet Sports with with CAHEP (Community Arts & Heritage Education Project)

 

Using pipe-cleaners, popsicle sticks and a variety of other materials, come and create a personalized puppet.

SNOW MUCH FUN with Children and Youth Staff at the Canada Games Complex.  Join us from 2-4pm for snow art and sculptures, grab a bagged lunch and a treat with some hot chocolate and get a wristband to go swimming!
