An alternate access route is in place for some City of Thunder Bay services located at the Victoriaville Civic Centre due to construction.

The main stairwell in the Victoriaville Civic Centre will be temporarily closed for renovations to support the opening of the new Service Thunder Bay, a one-stop shop for customers to access City services that will launch later this year.

During this time, an alternate route is available to access City services located on the second floor of the Civic Centre, including the Build Thunder Bay One-Stop Development Shop and the Infrastructure and Operations office.

Customers can access these services through the P1 level of the Victoriaville Parkade, either directly through the parkade or through McKellar Mall.

Customers using the McKellar Mall route should enter through the southwest entrance (off Centennial Square), turn left immediately, and take either the elevator or nearby stairwell to the parkade's P1 level. From there, follow the dedicated pathway through the parkade construction area and use the ramp to access the second floor of the Civic Centre.

City services located on the Civic Centre’s main floor, including Parking Services, can be accessed through the McKellar Mall as usual. For assistance or more information, call 807-62-BUILD (622-8453).

During the construction period, a limited number of dedicated parking spaces will be available for customers accessing City services. These spaces will be clearly marked as Customer Parking – City Services and have a two-hour time limit. 

Parking tokens will be provided upon request by the Engineering Clerk or Development Services Clerk for customers using these designated spaces.

The new Service Thunder Bay supports the City's Smart Growth Action Plan by enhancing the customer experience and helping streamline access to municipal services that support community growth and development.
