Arts & Culture Under the Lights, presented by Ontario Power Generation, returns this Friday, September 18, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Prince Arthur’s Landing in Marina Park as the local kick-off for Ontario Culture Days. Join us for an evening of creativity, connection, and community celebration. 

This free, family-friendly event showcases Thunder Bay’s vibrant arts and cultural community with an evening of live dance and musical performances, artist demonstrations, interactive activities, artisans, and vendors under twinkling lights. 

Highlights include:

  • A dynamic main stage with cultural performances
  • Dance lesson by Italian Touch Latin Dance School
  • Street-level pop-up acts and live music
  • Interactive art demonstrations from local artists
  • A Literary Stage hosted by the Thunder Bay Public Library
  • The return of Art of the Mushroom, presented by the Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP)
  • Light-up art installation by Michel Dumont
  • Artisan Market, Community Expo, and Food Vendors 

This free-to-attend event brings together residents and visitors of all ages to celebrate local talent, culture, and community. It supports the Attraction Pillar of the Smart Growth Action Plan by offering recreation and tourism attractions that celebrate Thunder Bay’s diverse population and multicultural heritage, providing opportunities for vendors, and showcasing local music, food, arts, and culture.

Arts & Culture Under the Lights, presented by Ontario Power Generation, is a registered Ontario Culture Days event. Ontario Culture Days continues across Thunder Bay through October 4, featuring a variety of free or Pay-What-You-May events and experiences hosted by local cultural organizations, including: the City of Thunder Bay, Thunder Bay Art Gallery, Cambrian Players, Thunder Bay Museum, Fort William Historical Park, Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, Kiikurit Finnish Folk Dancers, and more.
