January 7, 2026 - The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce the hours of operation for the Centennial Botanical Conservatory, beginning Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The December soft launch drew an enthusiastic crowd, showcasing the community’s excitement to explore the revitalized Conservatory and its lush indoor gardens.
Hours of Operation (effective January 8, 2026):
Date: Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Mondays)
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Centennial Botanical Conservatory, 1601 Dease Street
During regular hours, visitors will have access to the Tropical Main House, Desert Wing, and any activities or exhibits featured in the Multi-Purpose Wing. Back-of-House areas will remain closed to the public as staff resume full production operations.
Bookings for photography sessions and private events will open in early February 2026, with the first available booking dates starting February 17, 2026.
“The response we saw during the December soft launch was incredibly encouraging,” said Guy Walter, Supervisor, Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Section. “It’s exciting to welcome people back into the Conservatory and to see the gardens being enjoyed by the community. As we move back into full production, our focus is on maintaining vibrant displays while preparing for expanded programming and events.”
