October 17, 2025 – The City is gearing up to host this Fall’s Thunder Bay Talks. All residents are invited to come and connect directly with City staff in a casual, fun and friendly environment. This is a drop-in, tradeshow-style event designed to inspire conversation, answer questions and build connections between the broader community and the people who provide City services.

The event takes place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Moose Hall, where residents can visit information tables and speak with City staff to learn more about the services, programs and projects that are shaping Thunder Bay.

“We are so pleased to host our second Thunder Bay Talks event and feel very encouraged by the positive feedback we received from the community about the inaugural event in May,” said Cynthia Olsen, Director of Strategy & Engagement. “This has proven to be a great way for Thunder Bay residents to meet face-to-face with City staff to connect and talk about their topics of interest.”

The format is informal with no speeches or presentations. Key initiatives and activities will be spotlighted, including:

  • The Smart Growth Action Plan
  • Budget 2026
  • One-stop-shop for Customer Service
  • Local Government Week

 What you can expect

Attendees can enjoy a free BBQ prepared by the City Manager and staff volunteers, as well as snacks, refreshments, giveaways, and a chance to win a door prize.

City staff from all departments will be represented. Whether you come to ask questions, share your thoughts, or meet the people behind the scenes, everyone is welcome to drop by and join the conversation.
