May 27, 2026 – The City of Thunder Bay is inviting residents to take part in this spring’s Thunder Bay Talks, a casual, community event designed to bring residents and City staff together in a welcoming and engaging environment.

Thunder Bay Talks is a drop‑in, tradeshow‑style event where residents can connect directly with City staff, ask questions, share ideas, and learn more about the services, programs, and projects shaping Thunder Bay – all in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre, 700 River Street. Residents are encouraged to stop by at their convenience and explore a variety of information tables hosted by City departments. There are no formal presentations or speeches, allowing for open and meaningful conversations.

“As we host our third Thunder Bay Talks, we’re encouraged to see how this event has grown into a valued opportunity for residents to connect face‑to‑face with City staff,” said Michelle Williams, Manager – Communications & Public Relations. “Each event builds momentum by creating space for real conversations and direct community feedback in an open and informal setting.”

What You Can Expect

Attendees can explore information tables from City departments across the organization, take part in a new event passport activity that encourages visiting tables and connecting with staff, and collect stamps along the way for a chance to win a prize.

Guests can also enjoy a free BBQ prepared by the City Manager and staff volunteers, along with snacks, refreshments, giveaways, and a door prize. The event will feature family‑friendly activities and entertainment, including bouncy castles and more, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages.

Key initiatives that will be spotlighted at this event include:

  • Smart Growth Action Plan
  • Municipal Election 2026
  • One‑Stop Customer Service Shop

Whether you’re looking to learn more, ask questions, share feedback, or simply meet the people behind the scenes, all residents are welcome to drop by and join the conversation.
