The City of Thunder Bay invites residents to take part in a community conversation at the upcoming Community Safety & Well-Being Forum on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.
This event will bring together community members, partners, local leaders, and champions for grounded discussions on the complex issues that impact Thunder Bay. The event aims to strengthen relationships, connections, and build the foundation for collective action. Doors will open at 6:00 pm with activities and presentations taking place before the main conversation. The event is free and open to all.
“Our role is to help connect the dots, bringing people and organizations together to align efforts and take collective action,” said Geoff Abthorpe, Vice Chair of the Community Safety & Well-Being Advisory Committee. “The forum is an opportunity share thoughts and feedback and strengthen the foundation for change.”
“The forum is about creating space for honest conversation and shared understanding,” said Louisa Costanzo, Manager, Community Safety & Well-Being. “It’s one way we can come together to listen, learn, and rebuild a sense of connection across our community.”
The evening will also feature the Respect and Safety Awards, recognizing individuals, organizations, and businesses that model inclusion, respect, and care for others in Thunder Bay. Together, these award recipients embody the stories of positive change that unfold when people and organizations work with compassion and purpose.
Community participation is essential to shaping the next Community Safety & Well-Being Plan, which is a community-based plan, built from local experiences, ideas, and priorities. Community members are encouraged to attend the forum and complete the Community Safety & Well-Being survey, that will be open until December 15, 2025. Together, these opportunities will help inform a plan that is grounded in community voices, shared learning, collaboration, and collective action.
