The City of Thunder Bay is advising residents of upcoming road closures beginning Monday, May 5, as part of a phased traffic plan affecting the McIntyre Street area. These closures are necessary to support infrastructure work and ensure public safety during the project.

The phased closures will take place as follows:
Phase 1:
  • Algoma Street (North & South) – from Van Horne Street to Angus Street
  • McIntyre Street closed at Court Street – Local Traffic Only
  • McIntyre Street closed at Ruttan Street
Phase 2:
  • McIntyre Street at Algoma Street
  • McIntyre Street at Ruttan Street
Phase 3:
  • McIntyre Street at Algoma Street and Farrand Street
  • Ruttan Street at Van Horne Street and Angus Street
  • Shuniah Street at Meek Street
Detour routes will be clearly marked, and signage will be in place to help guide traffic around the construction areas.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes where possible. The City would like to thank all residents and drivers for their patience and cooperation during these necessary infrastructure improvements.
