The City of Thunder Bay is looking for input from residents as it reviews the policies that govern local trees and the urban forest.

Trees are valuable assets and part of the green infrastructure carefully implemented throughout Thunder Bay. The urban canopy provides numerous benefits to the community, from air quality and stormwater management to shade and reduced energy costs. Maintaining and improving the urban forest is essential to continuing these benefits.

The City will be conducting a review of its urban forest policies, reviewing topics like tree planting and maintenance, boulevard trees, and managing tree concerns. The review will examine policies associated with municipal trees.
