As part of the 2024 SnowDay on the Waterfront, taking place on Family Day, Feb. 19, the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation and Culture Division announced today its annual Call to Artists for Snow Sculpture submissions.
“New elements and enhancements are in store for this year’s event, including extended hours in the evening to highlight exciting light effects planned as part of an overall immersive public art installation,” said Louisa Costanzo, Supervisor, Cultural Development, Community Programming and Events.
Designed to get people outside and enjoying the season, SnowDay on the Waterfront embraces winter with fun outdoor programming for everyone. The event's main attraction—the snow sculpture creations, sees professional artists, professional artist-led teams, organizations, and community groups from across the region and beyond display their creations for all to admire.
There are two separate applications this year: one for professional artists and professional artist-led teams, and the other for community groups and organizations.
The deadline for submissions is Jan. 12, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST.
