April 29, 2026 - The City of Thunder Bay invites residents to provide feedback on the implementation of the current 2024-2029 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.

Developed by the City’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, the plan identifies potential accessibility barriers and outlines strategies to address and remove them. The City’s ongoing commitment to improving accessibility across municipal services, infrastructure, and programs is reflected through the plan.

Accessibility includes a wide range of considerations, from accessible physical design such as curbs, sidewalks, and built environments, like the new Red River Road streetscape, to accessible customer service. Consideration of all these factors ensures everybody can fully participate in City services. This survey also wants input on accessibility-related considerations connected to the upcoming Municipal Election.

“Community feedback is essential to make sure our accessibility priorities reflect the real needs and experiences of the people who live here. We encourage everyone and anyone to participate and help us continue building a more inclusive City,” said Kayla Scully, Municipal Accessibility Specialist.

Citizens are encouraged to complete the survey, which will remain open until June 29, 2026. The survey, along with the full Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, is available online at: www.thunderbay.ca/getinvolved

If you prefer a paper copy, surveys are available at the 55 Plus Centre, all public library branches, and at the first floor service counter at City Hall.
