As summer fades to fall, the City has begun seasonal closures starting with Art Widnall and Heath pools on Aug. 31 followed by Sandy Beach at Chippewa Park and the Main Beach at Boulevard Lake on Sept. 1. Amusement rides at Chippewa Park and the Muskeg Express at Centennial Park are closed as of today.
Splash pads at Franklin Park and the North End Community Centre will be closed as of Sept. 3; however, County Park and Northwood Playfield splash pads will remain open up to and including Sunday, Sept. 14. The Marina Park Splash Pad final day of operation is Sunday, Sept. 14.
Volunteer Pool is closed for three weeks for scheduled maintenance and expected to reopen on Sept. 24. Members can swim at either Churchill Pool or the Canada Games Complex during the shutdown. Visit www.thunderbay.ca/pools for more information and regular operating hours.
City staff will perform maintenance on these amenities in the off-season to prepare them for next year.
Please swim smart while spending time at an unsupervised beach.
