DOCTORS’ DAY
MAY 1, 2024

WHEREAS, Ontarians are grateful to physicians who work tirelessly on the extraordinary responsibility of caring for our health and well-being. On weekdays, weekends and holidays, these dedicated professionals walk into clinics, hospitals and other facilities across the province and practice with compassion for people often experiencing the most difficult circumstance of their lives; and

WHEREAS, Ontarians want to show their appreciation for doctors as we look to improve the healthcare system; and

WHEREAS, the Ontario Medical Association is organizing a province-wide expression of appreciation as a way for all Ontarians to recognize doctors for their dedication; and

WHEREAS, the lighting of landmarks and raising flags in our communities have become a way of expressing appreciation to all Ontario physicians who are there for us when we need them most;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Ken Boshcoff, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2024 as “Doctors’ Day” in the City of Thunder Bay.
