July 2, 2026 – The eastbound left turn lane at the Harbour Expressway and Golf Links Road intersection will be closed to traffic today, Thursday, July 2, to allow for roadway improvements.

This work supports construction of an additional left-turn lane on the Harbour Expressway, helping to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and make better use of the existing road capacity along one of Thunder Bay’s key growth corridors.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance transportation efficiency and support planned growth by optimizing infrastructure in high-demand areas, rather than expanding into new corridors

Work will include asphalt milling of a portion of the existing left turn lane in preparation for paving. 

The turn lane is expected to reopen by 5:00 pm. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes during this time.
