The City of Thunder Bay is inviting everyone to help shape the next Community Safety & Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. The CSWB Plan is a community-led strategy required by the Province and built by and for the people of Thunder Bay. This plan is all about making Thunder Bay safer, healthier, and more connected for everyone.

Over the next five months, the City will be engaging with residents, local organizations, and community partners to talk about what’s working well, what needs to change, and how we can work together to make a difference. The goal is to create a shared roadmap that sets priorities, offers real solutions, and tracks progress to build a stronger Thunder Bay, together.

To make sure the plan reflects voices from all corners of the community, a series of free Community Pop-Ups will take place in August and September. These casual, drop-in events are a chance to share ideas and connect with others — all while enjoying fun activities and community spirit.

Free Community Pop-Up Schedule:

  • Aug 20 – City Hall | Media Announcement + Community Input | 11:30 am–1 pm
  • Aug 27 – Minnesota Park | Share your ideas + activities for families and neighbours
  • Sept 10 – Paterson Park | Add your voice + community art activity
  • Sept 17 – Dease Park | Share your ideas + music and connection with neighbours
  • Rain Location for all events: City Hall Lobby

All of this will lead up to the Community Safety & Well-Being Forum on Saturday, September 27 at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. The Forum will bring people together to explore ideas, set priorities, and celebrate community action. More details will be shared soon.

“The CSWB Plan is about co-creating solutions,” said Louisa Costanzo, Manager of Community Safety & Well-Being. “By listening to residents and partners, we can set clear priorities and work toward long-term changes that reflect our community’s needs.”

“Your voice matters. Attend a pop-up, take the online survey, and join us at the Forum — together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more connected Thunder Bay.”

An online survey will also be available August 20, at:  www.thunderbay.ca/getinvolved
