SEPTEMBER 21, 2024


WHEREAS, the International Day of Peace is observed annually on September 21st to promote peace and non-violence worldwide;

WHEREAS, this day was established by the United Nations in 1981 to encourage all humanity to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace;

WHEREAS, City of Thunder Bay recognizes the importance of fostering a culture of peace and non-violence within our community;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Ken Boshcoff, on behalf of Thunder Bay City
Council, do hereby proclaim September 21, 2024 as “International Day of Peace” in the City of Thunder Bay and encourage all citizens to engage in activities that promote peace and understanding.
