The John Street and Balmoral Street intersection will be closed intermittently to traffic beginning on Thursday, June 18 to allow for repaving work.

The closure is expected to last approximately two days. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this time.

This work supports the City’s ongoing commitment to maintaining reliable transportation infrastructure that keeps Thunder Bay connected and supports future growth.

During construction:

  • While work is being completed on the John Street ramp, all other directions of traffic will remain open
  • While work is being completed within the intersection, the John Street ramp will be open to southbound traffic only

The work includes partial depth removal of the existing asphalt and paving one new lift of asphalt.
