Get ready to soar at the City of Thunder Bay’s Kite Festival, presented by Ontario Power Generation, a family-friendly celebration filled with colourful kites, outdoor fun, and imagination this Sunday, June 8, from 11am to 3pm at Chippewa Park.
This free-to-attend event invites everyone to enjoy a day of fresh air and fun. Bring your own kite or borrow one from our kite-lending station and enjoy the dedicated kite flying area. Other highlights include inflatable bouncy castles, arts and crafts, science activities, bubbles, local artisans, community groups, and food vendors offering tasty treats. Chippewa Park Amusement Rides will be open with special Kite Festival pricing in place.
“This event is about celebrating play, creativity, and community in a beautiful outdoor setting,” said Karen Kadolph, Special Event Developer with the City of Thunder Bay’s Cultural Development, Community Programming and Events section. “Kite Festival is a free, inclusive event where people of all ages can enjoy the spirit of spring together.”
FREE shuttles are being offered from Intercity Shopping Centre. Park at Intercity near the corner of Memorial Avenue and Isabel Street.
- Depart From Intercity Shopping Centre at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm
- Depart From Chippewa Park at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
