Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on a section of Water Street beginning Wednesday, September 16 to allow for asphalt rehabilitation work.

The lane reduction will be in place between Bay Street and First Avenue, with traffic control personnel on site to facilitate alternating northbound and southbound traffic through the construction zone.

The work is expected to take approximately four days to complete, weather permitting. For everyone’s safety, motorists are reminded to drive with caution near the construction zone.

This work will restore the road surface of this important transportation corridor using hot-in-place recycling. This process involves heating and partially removing the existing pavement, mixing it with a rejuvenator and a small amount of new asphalt, then re-laying the recycled pavement.
