The City of Thunder Bay congratulates Crystal Wilson on 40 years of service as a Crossing Guard in the city.

Since March 10, 1983, Crystal Wilson has been safely helping students cross busy roadways on their way to and from school – never missing a day.

Spending most of her years at St. Francis School, Crystal has watched hundreds of kids grow up and helped multiple generations of the same families.

When Crystal first began, Crossing Guards were overseen by the Thunder Bay Police Service but later management of the guard service was taken over by the City.

“We rely on dedicated Crossing Guards to keep students safe and Crystal’s dedication is unmatched” said Michelle Riemer, Field Supervisor Crossing Guards. “40 years is an incredible achievement and we congratulate Crystal and thank her for all her hard work.”

Representatives from the City of Thunder Bay, the Thunder Bay Police Service and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board will be on hand at St. Francis School Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm to personally congratulate Crystal.
