June 23, 2018

WHEREAS, the mining and exploration industry employees are working quietly in Thunder Bay and NW Ontario, they should be recognized for their significant contribution to the local economy and the culture of their communities; and

WHEREAS, their success in finding mines benefits all, they accept no accolades but take it in stride as “just part of the job”; and WHEREAS, this day should be a celebration where the mining community and the public meet and have fun at Prince Arthur’s Landing, a historical site in a city with a long history of mining.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Keith Hobbs, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim Saturday, June 23, 2018 as Mining Day in the City of Thunder Bay.
