December 12, 2025 – To further improve safety for both pedestrians and drivers, the City has activated four new signalized pedestrian crossings that are now available to the public. The locations are Arthur Street and Leland Ave, 1260 and 1077 Golf Links Road, and 853 Red River Road.

Signalized crossing at an intersection is an effective way to enhance pedestrian safety and manage traffic flow. This helps to create safer streets that are more accessible in urban areas and is essential in maintaining safety standards in our community.

“These new signalized crossings will enhance road safety and protect pedestrians from any hazardous traffic situations,” said David Briand, Project Engineer. “They have been proven to significantly reduce pedestrian crashes and prevent accidents that can happen at uncontrolled intersections.”
