Live on the Waterfront, presented by Ontario Power Generation, returns to Marina Park this Wednesday, July 29 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm featuring Pop Soul R&B. 

This week’s energetic theme features a mix of local artists, cover bands, and award-winning out-of-town talent:

  • 6:00 pm – Dirty Blonde: Dirty Blonde is a collaboration of four experienced and well-established local musicians that covers the classic hits of the 90's to present day hits. Energetic, familiar, catchy, fun, and danceable, there’s plenty to please people of all ages.
  • 7:00 pm – Avery Raquel: Avery Raquel is a Canadian Alternative Soul artist whose music fuses vintage soul, R&B, jazz, and pop into a modern, emotionally resonant sound. With a voice that defies her age and songwriting that blends vulnerability with maturity, Avery delivers a refreshing take on soul-infused storytelling. Known for her commanding stage presence and genre-blending sound, Avery Raquel is redefining what it means to be a soul artist in the 21st century.
  • 8:00 pm – Preston Pablo: Preston Pablo is one of Canada’s most streamed pop artists of his generation, amassing over 799 million global streams to date. The 2023 JUNO Award winner for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, he has since earned 2025 JUNO nominations for Pop Album of the Year and the fan-voted TikTok JUNO Award. His quadruple platinum breakout single “Flowers Need Rain” reached #1 at Adult/Pop radio and became the most Shazamed song of Summer 2022 in Canada, while follow-up single “Dance Alone” hit Top 10 across all three Canadian radio formats. He also featured on Karan Aujla’s global hit “Admirin’ You,” a track that has surpassed 500 million streams worldwide. Born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Pablo was discovered by Banx & Ranx and signed to 31 East in partnership with Universal Music Canada. In 2026, he enters a bold new chapter, rolling out two sister EPs that showcase his evolution as a songwriter, producer, and live musician.

This outdoor concert series runs every Wednesday until August 26, followed by the Live on the Waterfront: Summer Send-Off on August 27, which will include a Drone Light Show in partnership with the Thunder Bay Airport. 

This free event brings together music lovers of all ages to celebrate local talent, artists from across Canada, and the spirit of summer in Thunder Bay. Live On the Waterfront reflects objectives in the Attraction Pillar of the City’s Smart Growth Action Plan by offering recreation and tourism attractions that celebrate Thunder Bay’s diverse population and multicultural heritage, providing opportunities for vendors, and showcasing local music, food, arts and culture.
