September 15, 2026 – The City of Thunder Bay and Superior North Emergency Medical Services (SNEMS) are welcoming continued provincial support through the 2026 Land Ambulance Service Grant, an important investment that helps ensure residents receive timely, reliable and high-quality paramedic services.

The annual grant supports the delivery of land ambulance services across Ontario and helps municipalities maintain the frontline resources needed to respond to medical emergencies and provide patient care.

For Superior North EMS, the funding supports paramedic staffing, ambulance operations, medical equipment, facilities, and other resources to help meet growing demand across Thunder Bay and the surrounding municipalities and communities.

Reliable emergency services play a vital role in building complete, healthy, and resilient communities. As Thunder Bay continues to advance priorities identified through the Smart Growth Action Plan, investments in essential services such as paramedicine help ensure residents across the region have access to the emergency care and support they need.

The funding also strenghens ongoing efforts to modernize paramedic services and ensure frontline staff have the equipment, technology and facilities needed to do their work safely and efficiently.
