With warmer weather in the forecast, Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue is reminding residents to be extra careful around bodies of water and rivers, as Fire crews have responded to both people and pets on the ice in the last week.

“Walking on the ice in the Thunder Bay harbour is not permitted,” said Deputy Fire Chief Greg Hankkio. “In fact, walking on any body of water or river is not recommended at this time of year.”
