August 7, 2015 - Motorists are asked to avoid travelling on Edward Street if possible next week due to two major road construction projects that will limit access to two different sections of the corridor.

On Monday, Aug. 10, Edward Street at Woodlawn Street will close to through traffic to allow for the installation of a new storm sewer. The closure is scheduled for five days.

Detours will be posted at the intersection of Edward Street and Redwood Avenue to the south of the work area. To the north, a detour will be posted at the intersection of Edward Street and James Street/William Street.

Reconstruction of Edward Street is also continuing between Arthur Street and Victoria Avenue with Edward Street closed through this section, allowing southbound local traffic only; southbound traffic may also be periodically restricted as the project continues. This closure is expected to continue through next week.

The construction schedules are subject to change, as various factors - such as weather - can have an impact on project timelines.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible, and those travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage.
