August 19, 2026 - Live on the Waterfront, presented by Ontario Power Generation, returns to Marina Park this Wednesday, August 19 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm featuring Rock ‘n Country.
This week’s energetic theme features a mix of local rock bands and award-winning out-of-town country singers:
- 6:00 pm – Cartwrights: Drawing as much inspiration from the Replacements and the Reigning Sound as they do John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, Cartwrights have been playing their brand of Rock and Roll since 2018. Their latest album "If I Didn't Live Here I'd Leave" is set for release this summer.
- 7:00 pm – Rebekah Stevens: Kitchener, Ontario-based country singer-songwriter Rebekah Stevens was named a CMA Ontario “One to Watch” artist and was a Top 8 Emerging Artist finalist at the Boots & Hearts Music Festival. Since releasing her debut EP, Here I Am, she has continued to build a growing presence on the Canadian country music scene. Most recently, she opened for Sloan at the 2025 Kitchener Canada Day celebrations.
- 8:00 pm – Kendra Gabrielle: Kendra Gabrielle is a rising Canadian country artist known for her energetic live performances and heartfelt songwriting. Her music has earned national radio play, SiriusXM support, more than 500,000 global streams, and recognition from the Country Music Association of Ontario. She continues to gain momentum with audiences across Canada and is currently working on new music set for release later this year.
This outdoor concert series runs every Wednesday until August 26, followed by the Live on the Waterfront: Summer Send-Off on August 27, which will include a Drone Light Show in partnership with the Thunder Bay Airport.
This free event brings together music lovers of all ages to celebrate local talent, artists from across Canada, and the spirit of summer in Thunder Bay. Live On the Waterfront reflects objectives in the Attraction Pillar of the City’s Smart Growth Action Plan by offering recreation and tourism attractions that celebrate Thunder Bay’s diverse population and multicultural heritage, providing opportunities for vendors, and showcasing local music, food, arts and culture.
