July 2, 2026 – Sections of Simpson Street will be closed to traffic starting today, Thursday, July 2, to allow for the completion of repaving work.

Closures will be in place along Simpson between Robertson Street and Victoria Avenue for several days. Work will be completed in stages to help minimize traffic disruption.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes during this time. Sidewalks in the area will remain open.

This repaving project supports the City’s ongoing investment in reliable transportation infrastructure and contributes to the continued revitalization of both of Thunder Bay’s downtown cores, supporting the City’s focus on smart growth.
