Show Your Local Love Day September 20 & Show Your Local Love Week September 19-23

SEPTEMBER 20 & SEPTEMBER 19-23, 2022

WHEREAS, United Way Thunder Bay is a local organization that focuses collective efforts on issues of poverty in our community; and

WHEREAS, Show Your Local Love Day is an opportunity for community members to demonstrate their local love for Thunder Bay by being a good neighbour and lending a hand to those in need; and

WHEREAS, Show Your Local Love Day is an initiative led by United Way Thunder Bay to celebrate the role, played by United Way partners in tackling #UNIGNORABLE issues linked to poverty.

NOW THEREFORE, I, the Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, encourage all citizens to join together to give back to the community in a way that is personally meaningful. And with the express aim of inspiring individuals, businesses and organizations to show their local love by participating in United Way’s 2022 campaign, I do hereby proclaim Tuesday, September 20, 2022 to be Show Your Local Love Day, and September 19-23, 2022 to be Show Your Local Love Week.
