The City of Thunder Bay is reminding residents to stay cautious on the roads as a snowfall advisory is in effect today. Roads crews are working hard to keep our streets clear and safe.

With slippery, snow-covered roads expected, drivers are encouraged to follow these safety tips:

  • Reduce your speed: Adjust for road and weather conditions.
  • Maintain extra distance: Allow for longer stopping times by keeping a safe distance between vehicles.
  • Plan ahead: Expect slower traffic and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
  • Stay alert: Watch for pedestrians and cyclists, as snow can reduce visibility.
Drivers are also reminded to give the snowplows and salt trucks plenty of space to operate safely and effectively when you see them on the road. These vehicles are crucial for maintaining safe roads.
