The City of Thunder Bay is preparing to welcome residents to its splash pads as the summer season kicks off. Local splash pads will begin opening this week, offering families and children a fun and refreshing way to stay active during the warmer months.
Beginning today, the splash pads at Northwood Playfield and County Park will be open daily from 11 am to 8 pm.
The Waterfront Splash Pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing will be opening this Sunday, June 15, operating daily from 11 am – 8:30 pm.
“The Waterfront Splash Pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing is one of our most popular summer attractions,” said Paul Burke, Sport & Community Development Supervisor. “It’s a vibrant gathering place that draws families from across Thunder Bay and beyond to enjoy the waterfront experience.”
On Friday, June 20, the splash pads at Franklin Park and the North End Community Centre will open for the season, operating daily from 11 am to 8 pm.
“The start of splash pad season always brings excitement and energy to our neighbourhood parks,” said Cory Halvorsen, Manager of Parks & Open Spaces. “With each location offering a different design and experience, we invite residents to visit and enjoy them all.”
Thunder Bay’s splash pads typically remain open through early September, depending on weather conditions.
