Thunder Bay Transit is temporarily moving operations from the Waterfront Transit Terminal to a nearby location on Cumberland Street North starting Monday, July 14, 2025. This change is needed to allow for upgrades to the current terminal.

The temporary terminal will be located on Cumberland Street North between Van Norman Street and Camelot Street. That section of the street will be closed to regular traffic, but buses will still have access.

During this time, riders will find:

  • Temporary shelters and benches
  • Signage showing where to catch each route

The construction project is expected to be finished by mid-November 2025. Once complete, the upgraded terminal will offer improved safety, better accessibility, and greater convenience for both passengers and transit operators.
