The City of Thunder Bay is proud to announce the 2025 Arts & Heritage Awards, taking place on Thursday, Oct 23, at Magnus Theatre. The event, last held in 2019, celebrates the achievements of local artists, cultural professionals, historians, organizations, and supporters.
This year features an exciting addition - a new award design created especially for the 2025 ceremony by local artists Callen Retter and Robin Gathercole. Selected by a jury, the design draws inspiration from Thunder Bay’s unique cultural and natural landscape, blending contemporary style with a strong sense of place. This new piece will be unveiled for the first time at the Awards ceremony.
“The Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards are an opportunity to recognize the incredible talent, passion, and dedication that make Thunder Bay’s cultural community so vibrant,” said Caitlyn McMillan, Cultural Development & Public Art Coordinator. “We’re thrilled to showcase a new award design that reflects our city’s creative spirit.”
Tickets for the 2025 Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards are on sale now through Magnus Theatre’s box office and via thunderbay.ca/cultureawards.
The full list of award categories and nominees is now available, celebrating the outstanding individuals and groups who enrich Thunder Bay’s arts, culture, and heritage community. For more information about the event, categories, and past recipients, visit thunderbay.ca/cultureawards.
