The City’s twice-yearly Treasure Exchange Days event will take place on Sept. 7 & 8. Residents with used items in good condition that they wish to give away may leave them on the curb any time after 5 pm on Friday, Sept. 6, labelled “free.” Residents can then tour their neighbourhoods over the weekend to find treasures.

Treasure Exchange Days helps divert waste from the landfill, and gives a second life to good-condition used items. The event is a great opportunity to exchange reusable household items, furniture, small appliances, toys, and more.

Post-secondary students coming or returning to Thunder Bay can take this opportunity to discover free items to furnish their dorms and residences.

All items not taken by treasure-hunters must be removed from the curb by 7 pm on Sunday, Sept. 8. The City’s Solid Waste & Recycling Services will not collect these items.

Treasure Exchange Days, which began in 2014, is an Action Item in the City’s Solid Waste Management Strategy. For more information, visit: www.thunderbay.ca/treasuredays
