The City of Thunder Bay is reminding all Section 3 water billing customers, which includes the Westfort, East End, Parkdale, Arthur St, Victoria Ave and 25th Side Road areas, that water bills will still be issued the week of October 13, as scheduled, despite the ongoing Canada Post strike.
Customers are advised that bill due dates remain in effect, and payment is expected on or before the due date – November 14, 2025. Section 3 residents submitted meter readings in September.
To avoid delays, customers are encouraged to sign up for e-billing to receive bills directly via email. E-billing ensures convenient, uninterrupted delivery.
To receive October bills electronically, customers must sign-up for e-billing by October 13th by visiting: www.thunderbay.ca/waterbilling. Sign-up requires the 8-digit account number and the account owner name, exactly as it appears on the water bill.
Customers who do not sign up for e-billing will have their bill mailed as soon as Canada Post services resume. Please note, bills reflect the amount due at the time of billing, not at the time of receipt. If payment is not received by the due date, penalty and fees will apply. Residents enrolled in pre-authorized payment plans will have their amount due withdrawn on the due date.
Residents are also encouraged to register for the water meter reading reminder service on the City’s website at www.thunderbay.ca/waterbilling to stay informed about future updates via email, telephone, or text message.
The City will continue to share updates about the postal strike and its impact on water billing on the website and through local media.
Customers can contact the Revenue Division at 807-625-2255 with any questions.
