The City of Thunder Bay has released its proposed 2025 capital budget and is seeking input from the public.
Residents are encouraged to review the proposed capital expenditures, which outline key projects to enhance public infrastructure, from road repairs to facility upgrades, as part of the City’s commitment to building a sustainable, vibrant community. A public survey has also been launched, inviting residents to provide feedback on this new process, the updated budget layout, and the proposed capital initiatives.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve transparency and make it easier for residents to understand and engage with the City’s budget process,” said Keri Greaves, General Manager, Corporate Services and City Treasurer. “Releasing the capital budget separately allows the community to take a closer look at our planned investments and provide feedback on where their tax dollars are going. We look forward to hearing from residents about this new format.”
Feedback collected through the survey will help the City refine future budget processes and ensure the Capital Budget is clear, accessible, and aligned with residents’ priorities.
The survey is available until November 12 and can be completed online at thunderbay.ca/getinvolved or via hard copy available at Thunder Bay Public Library locations and the lobby of City Hall.
