Girls from schools across Thunder Bay will gather at Lakehead University’s C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse and Hangar on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, for the third annual INSPIRE – Sport & Health for Life event presented by Tbaytel. 

Studies show that one in three girls drop out of sport by the age of 16 compared to one in ten boys.  Additionally, many girls did not return to sport after the pandemic. INSPIRE aims to help reverse these trends.

City Archives Celebrates Women's History 2025

If you know a woman whose role in Thunder Bay’s history should be celebrated, the City Archives is now accepting submissions for its Women’s History Month exhibit. The exhibit, launched in 2013, celebrates women who have contributed to Thunder Bay’s history.

New profiles of women are added to the exhibit during Women’s History Month in October.

Arranging for a ride home after socializing is a smart choice, but before getting into a taxi or rideshare vehicle, make sure the driver and vehicle are both properly licensed for the job.
